Hello,
some of my clients would like to pay me by credit card.
I decided to integrate Stripe to my website. They charge 2.9% + 30c per transaction.
I want to reflect this to the bill by adding a convenience fee of 3% since this would be a huge chunk taking off my paycheck.
The problem is that I know convenience or surcharge fees are illegal in California for merchants.
I'm technically not selling any products, I'm providing programming/consulting services and I just want to allow my clients to pay their bill online. Is it legal for freelancers?
If not, is there a workaround?

Thanks
