I am Afrizal, from Indonesia. I graduated from English Department of Padang State University, West Sumatra (Bachelor Degree), in 1994. Since my graduation, I have involved in different type of translation works, ranged from personal quotation to team projects, mostly in Jakarta and Bandung.
Below are several projects in which I involved:
1997 – IIFTIHAR-ICMI Conference. Translating papers and reports from conference participants came from different countries to Indonesian.
1998 – 2003 – Indonesian Forum for Budget Transparency (FITRA). Translating proposals, papers, and reports both from English to Indonesian and vice versa.
1998 – 2003 – Translating hundreds of handbooks, book chapters, reports, papers, and articles from English into Indonesian. Most of these works came from university students and lectures in Jakarta area where I operated as freelance translator.
2004 – Jatigede Dam Project. Translating proposals and reports from Indonesian to English to be submitted to relevant state bodies and foreign investors.
2010 to present – Translating articles and web contents from English to Indonesian as requested by clients who want to serve Indonesian customers through their websites.
My latest activities as an active blogger and internet marketer enrich my experience in adapting and translating various English web contents to Indonesian.
Furthermore, my translation skills is supported by my own capability to type fast with 10 fingers as I was a typing operator for more than 3 years in Jakarta. I also familiar with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
